The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a part-time Genetic Counselor Westwood Administration - East to assess risk for inherited conditions, provide counseling, and support informed decision making for patients and families.
Responsibilities include arranging sample collection for testing, reviewing family history, developing counseling services, educating patients on cancer genetics, and collaborating with physicians.
Position Summary / Career Interest: The Genetic Counselor provides genetics assessment, diagnosis and counseling. This position serves our patients and families to assess individual or family risk for a variety of inherited genetic disorders, provides information to other healthcare providers or to individuals and families concerned with the risk of inherited conditions, advise individuals and families to support informed decision making and coping methods for those at risk, and also conduct research, educate, publish and perform administrative projects as discussed with their leadership team.
