Job summary

ERock in San Antonio is seeking a detailed-oriented Microgrid Mechanical Technician to maintain and service multiple microgrid generators. You will work with Area Managers to ensure generators operate on demand and meet customer requirements, with a focus on safety and reliability in a fast-paced field.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical experience, ability to read manufacturer software, perform preventive maintenance, and travel on-site as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience - at least 3 Years Mechanical and/or Electrical.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport materials, equipment, or personnel to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Successfully pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to ensure compliance with company standards and safe driving practices.
  • Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attention to detail.
  • Computer skills- Uses computers, software applications, databases and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Flexibility-Technicians have a rotating on call schedule. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for multiple hours a day.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder and lift 50 lbs safely.
  • Integrity- Work efficiently and effectively when with or without supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled repairs of engines and generator ends and related control equipment.
  • Learn and use manufacturer software to troubleshoot engine/control problems.
  • Facilitate technical support with equipment manufacturers.
  • Perform scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks.
  • Conduct periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.
  • Work in high heat, humidity, and cold conditions.
  • Follow company processes for verbal/written communications.
  • Utilize current technology for documentation and research.
  • Ensure Safe Operation of electrical equipment per standards.
  • Safely operate and maintain motor vehicles for business use.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added by management.

Role Overview:

We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful Microgrid Mechanical Technician to assume responsibilities for multiple Microgrid generators. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing maintenance on power generation equipment, electrical experience as a plus. The Microgrid Mechanical Technician will coordinate with Area Managers to ensure generators are maintained, serviced, and operate for customer requirements for on demand electricity. The position is remote in the San Antonio area and will report to the Area Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform skilled repairs of Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), Power Solutions International (21.9 L) and Marathon generator ends, as well as various voltage control and synchronizing equipment.
  • Be proficient at learning and utilizing manufacturer specific software to troubleshoot and diagnose engine and control system problems.
  • Facilitate technical support and liaison with equipment manufacturers.
  • Perform scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks.
  • Perform periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.
  • Work in potentially confined areas of high heat and humidity, and cold.
  • Follow company process and procedures for verbal/written communications.
  • Utilize all current technology for communication, documentation, and research.
  • Ensure Safe Operation of electrical equipment by enforcing company and industry standards.
  • Safely prepare, operate, and maintain motor vehicles for the purpose of conducting company business.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added at the direction of Company's management.

Requirements
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
