Job summary

Pearce is hiring a Generator Technician to service and repair commercial generators on cell tower sites across the region. The role suits independent, self-starters willing to travel and be on-call.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure readiness with attention to safety and regulatory guidelines. The position requires physical capability to lift, climb, and work long hours, with on-site assignments and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of generators.
• Basic knowledge of FCC/ FAA/ EPA/ OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining generators, diagnosing and repairing problems, installing components or entire systems, and performing maintenance or upgrades.
• Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure readiness; read blueprints and specs to install or repair.
• Install fuel and water lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and test for proper operation.
• Be on call 24/7 as necessary and respond promptly to alarms and inquiries.
• Work safely, following OSHA standards and using safety equipment.

Core Responsibilities

• Maintaining generators, diagnosing and repairing problems, installing and replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment
• Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation
• Be responsible for responding promptly/timely to Power/Generator alarms; have the ability to be on call 24/7 if necessary and respond promptly in answering assigned phone and email
• Perform work with the awareness of all potential hazards connected with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment, including but not limited to falls, electric shock, falling objects, and traffic; use safety equipment and utilize safety practices; attend and participate in all designated safety and training meetings

Core Experience

• Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance is preferred and a minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes
• Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of Generators; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills
• Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations

Physical/Work Environment

At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.

• This position requires lifting over 50 pounds, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods of time
• Must have the ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly
• Must be willing and able to drive long distances, workday, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; must assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and be gone from home for extended periods of time
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical

Base Pay Range: $30 USD - $40 USD

• In addition to wages, employees may also be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem or other applicable compensation.
