Job summary

Additional Resources Ltd is seeking a Generator Service Engineer to join our established engineering and construction firm, specializing in demolition, civil engineering, plant hire and power generation services. You will provide on-site engineering support, maintain equipment, diagnose faults and perform repairs, servicing and commissioning work.

The role offers £17.25 per hour for a 39-hour week with overtime opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior generator experience essential.
• Experience in mechanical/electrical engineering, or diesel fitting.
• Familiarity with DSE/Deep Sea systems and generator synchronising, refresher training available if required.
• Understanding electronic systems and mechanical components, including engines and alternators.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
• Selecting appropriate specialist equipment, connectors and testing tools for maintenance and repairs.
• Setting up equipment in line with customer specifications.
• Carrying out modifications to equipment when required and instructed.
• Repairing and maintaining machinery in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements.
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and providing effective technical support to customers.
• Participating in the on-call rota and working overtime when required, sometimes at short notice.
• Attending relevant training and contributing positively to ongoing technical development.

• Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm
