You will work with potential source, bus‑fed, brushless, DC rotating, and compound units, handling excitation systems ranging from 35 A voltage regulators to 8000 A static multi‑bridge designs. A deep understanding of power electronics and generator applications is essential, along with the ability to troubleshoot installation and commissioning of excitation systems, gather field data, and support customer interactions both remotely and on‑site.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary leadership to the engineering team, establishing and communicating technical standards and best practices.
  • Interact clearly and effectively with the ITO (Information Technology Operations) team to understand project needs, correlating legacy product capabilities with current and latest product generation controls. Ensure seamless integration and transition between old and new systems.
  • Lead the system engineering and development of exciter models such as ST4B/AC7B/PSS2C or similar, during the ITO phase, with respect to local TSO/Grid code compliance needs.
  • Lead and conduct Customer Witness Tests and support Site Acceptance Tests with confidence and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with product development team and quality teams to refine and improve processes and tools across the engineering value stream.
  • Plan, execute, and deliver complex, high‑stakes projects in partnership with commercial, OEM, and field services teams.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment and success.
  • Evaluate high‑risk projects to facilitate accurate quoting and effective risk management.
  • Ensure all projects meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements through diligent oversight and leadership.
  • Mentor and coach engineers to enhance their technical expertise and foster career growth.
Innovation & Collaborative Leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and integrate new technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
  • Culture of innovation and encourage creative problem‑solving within the team.
  • Collaborate with product management, sales, and other cross‑functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to non‑technical stakeholders.
Quality Assurance Leadership
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards throughout the entire development lifecycle.
  • Lead design reviews and enforce compliance with quality design standards.
  • Implement and oversee performance monitoring processes, and report on key quality metrics to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of technical engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25 % of the time.
Desired Characteristics
  • Proven track record of leading and successfully delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with control systems from leading manufacturers including GE, Emerson, ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Brush, Reivax, and others.
  • Expertise in electrical and mechanical control systems.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong cross‑functional communication strengths.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills to inspire and guide teams.
  • Ability to mentor and develop talent effectively.
  • Sound decision‑making abilities under pressure.
