Job summary

Cisco Milpitas is seeking an AI/ML intern to contribute to the development and deployment of generative AI applications using large language models such as GPT-4, Claude, and Llama. You will help optimize neural networks for NLP performance, training and fine-tuning models, and collaborate with a team of researchers and engineers.

This internship emphasizes hands-on work in Python, SQL, and Go, with exposure to cloud-native platforms and AI security considerations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (Associate's or Bachelor's) with 2 years of work experience; or a Master’s degree program with 0 years of work experience.
• Qualifying education and work experience should be in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Expected to continue enrollment in degree program following completion of the internship.
• Previous experience with model building, AI/LLM development, and programming in Python, SQL, or Go, including the use of common AI libraries, in an academic, project, or professional capacity.
• Experience training or fine-tuning a neural network model, including attention to performance or scalability considerations
