Job summary

LuminX is building the Visual AI Layer for warehouse loading docks, delivering compact AI camera systems that read barcodes, labels, and counts in real time. We hire a generalist Software Engineer to impact customer experiences, backend services, and edge-to-cloud infrastructure across the full stack.

You'll collaborate with founders, ML engineers, hardware teams, and customers, solving high-impact problems and delivering reliable software in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of professional software-engineering experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, design, testing, and debugging.
• Ability to write clear production code in at least one modern backend language.
• Experience building backend services and APIs, and operating software in a cloud environment.
• Frontend experience to independently build or modify product workflows using a modern web framework.
• Familiarity with containers, deployment pipelines, logging, metrics, alerting, and reliable production systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and validating their outputs.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity, ownership mindset, and fast-paced startup environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical teammates.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve customer-facing web applications and review shipments in real time.
• Design and implement backend services, APIs, and data models connecting devices, cloud systems, and customer apps.
• Develop reliable pipelines for high-volume operational data including images, detections, and barcodes.
• Own features end to end from problem understanding to deployment and monitoring.
• Improve cloud and edge infrastructure, deployment tooling, and observability.
• Support MLOps workflows including model packaging, versioning, deployment, and monitoring.
• Build internal tools to accelerate hardware deployments, data review, and model improvement.
• Integrate with warehouse-management, transportation-management, and inventory platforms.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools and verify outputs; validate when deeper engineering work is required.
• Debug across frontend, backend, infrastructure, networking, data, edge devices, and ML systems.
