Job summary

NBCUniversal seeks an HR Generalist to support a broad range of HR initiatives for the PD&P/MG Functions. The role partners with leaders to develop people strategies, enhance organizational effectiveness, and foster a positive employee experience.

You will advise employees and managers, support staffing, talent management, compensation, inclusion, learning and development, and other HR programs in a hybrid NY-based setting. Requires strong communication and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years HR experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint; SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad HR support to advance functional and organizational objectives.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to recruit, draft descriptions, track headcount and manage budget.
  • Support organizational changes and liaise with Benefits, Compensation and Payroll teams.
  • Lead initiatives such as Intern, Page and Non-Staff recruitment.
  • Coach employees on employee relations matters and address issues proactively.
  • Process HR transactions (promotions, hires, terminations) in HR systems.

Job Description

Role Summary

The Human Resources Generalist will support a broad range of HR initiatives aligned with the functional objectives, strategic goals, for the PD&P/MG Functions teams. The role will proactively partner with HR and business leaders to develop people strategies, enhance organizational effectiveness and foster a positive employee experience. The HR Generalist will coach and advise employees and managers, strengthen engagement, and support key HR processes including staffing, talent management, compensation, inclusion, learning and development, performance management, organizational development, change management, training, employee relations, and other special projects as assigned by the PD&P/MG Functions HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a broad range of HR support to advance functional and organizational objectives, strategic goals, and human resource initiatives.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to launch recruitment activities for open positions including, drafting job descriptions, benchmarking positions, track headcount, and manage budget.
  • Support and facilitate organizational changes.
  • Liaise with HR specialists and partners, including Benefits, Compensation and Payroll, to address and resolve employee inquiries.
  • Contribute to HR programs and may lead specific initiatives including Intern, Page and Non-Staff recruitment.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees regarding employee relations matters.
  • Address employee and organizational issues proactively to drive positive outcomes.
  • Processing transactions in HR systems, including promotions, new hires, terminations, and organizational changes, through required workflow processes.
  • Interpret and communicate HR policies, practices and procedures for managers, teams and employees to support the division’s mission, values and strategic priorities.
  • Foster a culture of positive employee relations by maintaining confidentiality, building and balancing business needs with employee needs.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience within the HR function, or a combination of education and relevant experience

  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with HR information systems, such as SAP preferred

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the New York, NY office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
