Job summary

TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants is seeking a General Utility to maintain kitchen areas, equipment, and dishware in a clean, sanitary environment. The role supports food preparation and upholds the company road map and core values in daily operations.

Primary duties include dishwashing, pot and utensil washing, trash removal, and light prep work. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, work in a fast-paced team setting, and adapt to indoor/outdoor conditions as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Scrapes and pre-rinses food from dirty dishes and places them in the dishwashing machine.
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand and/or machine.
• Completes all assigned prep work.
• Removes trash and garbage to dumpster area.
• Washes work area tables, walls, refrigerator equipment, cooking equipment and floors.
• Cleans garbage cans and trash receptacles.
• Assembles, maintains and breaks down dish machine.
• Transports cases weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Works indoors most of the time and outdoors occasionally.

Essential Job Functions

Primary Duties

• Scrapes and pre-rinses food from dirty dishes and places them in dishwashing machine (50%*).
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand and/or machine (15%*).
• Completes all assigned prep work (10%*).
• Removes trash and garbage to dumpster area (10%*).
• Washes work area tables, walls, refrigerator equipment, cooking equipment and floors (5%*).
• Cleans garbage cans and trash receptacles (5%*).
• Assembles, maintains and breaks down dish machine (5%*).
• Transports cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
• Ability to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on both high and low shelves.
• Works indoors (90%*), outdoors (10%*).
• Works frequently in a hot and damp environment.
• Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent danger to self and others.

Physical And Mental Requirements

Language Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
