Job summary

Louisiana Cat in Bossier City, LA is seeking a General Utility to support daily equipment operations, loading and unloading, staging machines, and performing light maintenance. You will help ensure equipment is prepared, accounted for, and presented in good working condition.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Louisiana Cat is seeking a General Utility to join our growing operations at the Bossier City, LA location. The General Utility Worker supports daily equipment operations by loading and unloading equipment, staging machines for use or delivery, completing inspections, performing light diagnosis and maintenance, and maintaining a clean, organized yard. This position helps ensure that equipment is properly prepared, accounted for, and presented in good working condition.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

• Load and unload equipment safely and efficiently using appropriate procedures and equipment.
• Stage equipment in designated areas for customer pickup, delivery, service, or internal use.
• Perform light diagnosing of machines and identify basic operating or maintenance concerns.
• Complete routine maintenance tasks and report repair needs to the appropriate supervisor.
• Wash, clean, and prepare equipment so that it is ready for use, delivery, or return.
• Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections to verify that equipment is clean, complete, and operating as expected before delivery.
• Complete check-in inspections when equipment is returned, documenting condition and identifying missing, damaged, or malfunctioning items.
• Complete check-out inspections before equipment leaves the yard or is released for use.
• Maintain and organize the yard, including equipment placement, cleanliness, accessibility, and general appearance.
• Keep equipment and staging areas orderly to support efficient loading, unloading, and movement of machines.
• Follow established safety procedures when handling, moving, washing, inspecting, and maintaining equipment.
• Communicate equipment condition, inspection findings, and maintenance concerns clearly to supervisors and team members.
• Perform other general utility and yard support duties as assigned.

MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to safely load, unload, move, and stage equipment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify common equipment concerns.
• Strong attention to detail when checking equipment condition and completeness.
• Ability to keep work areas, equipment, and the yard clean and organized.
• Reliable communication and the ability to work effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Ability to work independently while completing assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
