At the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division at NAS Patuxent River, MD, SA-TECH supports the Aircraft Instrumentation Division (AID) of the Prototyping, Experimentation, and Instrumentation (PIE) Department and we are currently looking to hire a General Technician II to repair, fabricate, modify and install sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies.
In this role, you will repair, fabricate, modify and install sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies. To be successful, you'll need a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of the physical properties and working characteristics of sheet metal, knowledge of tools and equipment required in the sheet metal trade, and knowledge of shop mathematics and principles.
You’ll perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. You will select or adapt standard procedures or equipment using fully applicable precedents and receive initial instructions, equipment requirements and advice from a supervisor or engineers as needed. Recurring work will be performed independently and all work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.
Other tasks may be assigned to you as needed.
