Job summary

MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join the Integrated Surgery team. The role includes OR time with first-assist across General, OB (C-sections), Orthopedics, GYN, or Vascular surgery, plus inpatient rounding, pre/post-op care, and floor/ED consults.

Typical day shifts with rotating night and weekend call. Eligible for Quality and Productivity bonuses, comprehensive benefits, and employer-sponsored retirement. MD Harbor area experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program; required.

Responsibilities

• Provide OR time and first-assist in General, OB, Ortho, GYN, or Vascular surgeries.
• Inpatient rounding, pre- and post-op care, and floor/ED consults.
• Participate in daytime schedule with rotating night and weekend call.

About the Job

Our Integrated Surgery team is seeking a full-time physician assistant at MedStar Harbor Hospital, which has been a community presence in downtown Baltimore for more than 100 years as a well-known acute care hospital. Join a team of surgical PAs providing comprehensive surgical and exceptional inpatient care to our patients.

This opportunity is a mixture of OR time, with a variety of cases, as well as inpatient rounding, pre- and post-op care and consults on the floor and in the emergency department. Daytime work, plus rotating night and weekend call for emergency surgical cases only.

Enjoy working with a very close-knit MD/DO & PA group. This is a great environment for experienced PAs from a surgical field. The ideal candidate will enjoy being in the OR and have current or previous first-assist experience in General, OB (c-sections), Ortho, GYN, or Vascular Surgery.

Minimal Qualifications

Education

• Graduation from a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program. required and
• Bachelor's degree required and
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 1-2 years Related experience; specialty experience may be preferred based on location. required

Licenses and Certifications

• PA - Physician Assistant NCCPA (National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants) certification. required and
• Current license with the Maryland Board of Physicians required and
• CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required and
• Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
