Job summary

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 1+ year MA experience in a medical office or clinic.
• Direct patient care experience including vital signs, patient history, medications, and basic procedures (EKG, phlebotomy, injections).
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands-on clinical experience.
• Post-hire clinical competency assessment and MA orientation; potential MA trainee if standards not met.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience is a plus.
• BLS from AHA within 90 days of hire.
• BAT and DOT certifications required for MA in Occupational Medicine within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and reconcile medications; collect patient history.
• Facilitate patient flow and coordinate tests and procedures.
• Manage EPIC and scheduling; process medication requests and prior authorizations.
• Assist with EKGs, labs, injections or phlebotomy as competency allows.
