Community Memorial Hospital, VCU Health - South Hill, VA
The mission of the Department of Surgery is the pursuit of excellence in surgical care through constant innovation and education and to provide every patient with the best care. This position resides in the Section of Community General Surgery of the Division of Bariatric and Gastrointestinal Surgery at VCUHS. The primary location of practice will be Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, Virginia, and the surgeon will collaborate with the main academic medical center, VCU Hospital that is a Quaternary, Level I Trauma Center health care system, in Richmond, Virginia. Community Memorial Hospital has the intent to become a level III trauma center.
This position is intended for a junior to mid-level, term, non-tenure track faculty position. The incumbent will provide support at the practice in Community Memorial Hospital, a 70-bed hospital in South Hill, Virginia, as well as will integrate into the existing elective general surgery practice and acute care surgery practice model with the option for critical care coverage as applicable. The practice incorporates community general surgical cases with laparoscopic, robotic, endoscopic capabilities. The faculty member will also support the division of Bariatric & GI surgery and Acute Care Surgical Services with teaching responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
