U.S. Army 6th Medical Recruiting Battalion seeks a General Surgeon to join a world-class military health care team and advance surgical care for Soldiers and families.

As a General Surgeon, you will examine, diagnose, consult, and perform surgeries, while engaging in ongoing education and collaborative research with Army colleagues.

Active Duty or Army Reserve paths are available, with extensive benefits and opportunities for leadership, training, and humanitarian missions.

Qualifications

• Must have an MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school.
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the United States (US, DC or PR).
• Must be eligible for board certification.
• Completed at least one year of GME internship.
• Completed a general surgery training program.
• U.S. citizen for Active Duty service.
• Permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, consult and treat patients.
• Perform general surgery procedures for Soldiers and family members.
• Lead ongoing education and training programs with surgical teams.
• Collaborate with Army Medical Corps on surgical innovations.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy

• Foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates

• Must have a current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico

• Must be eligible for board certification

• Must have completed at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship

• Must have completed a training program in general surgery

• Must be a U.S. citizen to serve on Active Duty

• Must have a permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve
