Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics is inviting surgeons to join a unique partnership across two community hospitals. The role is elective-focused: 70% endoscopy and 30% general surgery, with minimal ER involvement and no night or weekend call under Option 1.

Job description

A Unique Partnership Opportunity

Practice Models:

Option 1: Elective-Focused, No Call

Practice entirely between two community hospitals, Monday through Friday, with no night or weekend call. This model is approximately 70% endoscopy and 30% general surgery, with an all-elective volume and minimal ER involvement - typically no more than five consults per week.

Option 2: Elective-Focused with Weekend Call

Identical to Option 1, with the addition of 1-in-5 weekend call (Friday night through Monday morning), compensated with additional pay.

Option 3: Surgicalist/Elective Model

Practice as a Surgicalist as well as performing elective surgeries on a 10-week rotation - 3 weeks as Surgicalist and 7 weeks in-office/elective. Call runs just a little better than 1-in-3 nights, with 1-in-5 weekends. One surgeon covers weekdays, with two covering weekends. There is no trauma at any facility, and each site is supported by a Hospitalist service. Endoscopy responsibilities remain part of this model.
