Bayhealth is seeking a General Surgeon to join our team in Sussex, Delaware. The role focuses on high-quality surgical care within a collaborative environment across Kent and Sussex Counties.

Bayhealth Medical Center serves as a regional leader with campuses in Dover and Milford and opportunities for professional growth. Qualified candidates will hold an MD or DO, have completed a General Surgery Residency, possess appropriate state licensure, and be board eligible or board certified.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Completion of General Surgery Residency Program.
• Appropriate state Licensure.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified.

• Maintain clinical and surgical skills with credentialing.
• Ensure safe dispensing aligned with patient conditions and therapy.

Bayhealth is seeking a General Surgeon to join our team in Sussex, Delaware!

Bayhealth Medical Center is Central and Southern Delaware’s healthcare leader with hospitals in Dover and Milford. We offer various practice settings throughout Kent and Sussex Counties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilization and interpretation of appropriate diagnostic tests (i.e. laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging and procedures appropriate to their specialty) and provide appropriate referral or consultation.
• Perform patient education and counseling to promote wellness. Consistently address and provide resources for health risk behaviors.
• Physician will maintain and provide the clinical, technical and surgical skills to which they have been credentialled to perform.
• Physician will use the appropriate pharmacological dispensing consistent with patients age, medical conditions, allergies, drug interaction and duration of therapy assuring quality of care in the dispensing of both narcotic and non-narcotic medication.
• Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice.
• Contributes to medical knowledge by synthesizing new research and medical knowledge and uses appropriately to improve healthcare practice.
• Participates in and supports the integrated continuum of care of patients within Bayhealth to enhance the quality of care.
• Embraces a sense of community and commitment to partnership, standards of performance and increasing patient referrals among members of the medical staff.
• Have collegial and collaborative relationships with colleagues and staff.
• Attend quarterly Bayhealth Medical Staff Meetings; practice meetings; and other meetings as requested by the leadership team.
• Embrace and support Bayhealth strategy and initiatives.
