Job summary

TITAN, Consultants & Engineers, LLC. seeks a temporary General Superintendent to lead renovations for Fort Smith, AR facilities. You will coordinate trades, manage budgets, and drive safety and quality on multi-million dollar projects.

The role requires 10-15+ years in commercial/industrial construction, OSHA 30, EM385-1-1 40 hours, and strong leadership capabilities in a fast-paced environment. Federal experience is preferred and the project emphasizes safety and schedule discipline.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-hour certification required.
  • EM385-1-1 40-hour training required.
  • STS-C Certification preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed training preferred.
  • Federal project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and subcontractors to meet schedule and quality targets.
  • Manage project budget for general conditions and site services.
  • Develop and communicate work plans for field changes.
  • Maintain contract-document knowledge to anticipate issues.
  • Ensure permits are obtained for subs as needed.
  • Act as safety lead and enforce safety compliance across trades.
  • Develop safety strategies and drive safety culture.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage site logistics and tie-ins.
  • Lead contractor meetings and maintain daily reports and schedules.
  • Collaborate with BD to integrate sales strategies and client deliverables.
  • Mentor and train field engineers and superintendents.

Job description

Project Scope: We have an immediate need for a temporary General Superintendent to support various renovations to several buildings at Fort Smith, AR Facilities Project.

Responsibilities:
  • Directs the day-to-day coordination of Client's trade contractors and their sub-contractors to ensure high-quality work that meets the approved project schedule
  • Manages the project budget for general conditions and site services
  • Develops, documents, and communicates the work plan regarding changes made in the field
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of contract documents in order to proactively anticipate potential problems
  • Obtains or verifies that subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction purposes
  • Acts as primary safety representative in the field and enforces safety compliance with all trades
  • Develops safety strategies and drives safety culture across all project personnel
  • Conducts maintenance and planning of "workarounds," shutdowns and tie-ins
  • Establishes credibility among owners, trade contractors, unions, and other project partners by maintaining a fair and trustworthy environment
  • Resolves jurisdictional disputes with support from the Sr General Superintendent or Construction Executive
  • Leads contractor meetings on a regular basis
  • Maintains daily reports and documentation using software tools
  • Creates, manages, and updates the project schedule, creating and implementing contingency plans when necessary
  • Communicates schedule status, updates, and changes to project team and trade contractors
  • Plans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logistics
  • Develops the Quality in Construction (QIC) plan in partnership with the Operations Excellence team, oversees the plan and implements necessary changes
  • Manages Next150/Site Services material and crew needs
  • Trains direct report Field Engineers and Superintendents on project needs, construction knowledge, and business acumen
  • Assists in development, preplanning, and preconstruction/construction to write scopes of work and participate in buyout
  • Administers Time and Materials (T&M) tracking
  • Leads stretch and flex, daily huddle, and pre-task plans
  • Engages in the community, growing and fostering relationships in the local market
  • Collaborates closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies including performance metrics on your assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables. Actively participates in opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships that position as the "Builder of Choice"
  • Trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks
  • Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards
  • Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members
  • Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports
  • May be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  • 10-15+ years of experience on $30-$100 million commercial/industrial construction project(s) or multiple projects in a lead superintendent role
  • OSHA 30-hour certified
  • EM385-1-1 40 hour training
  • STS-C Certification
  • First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Federal experience required.

  • Must have experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
  • Familiarity with Pull Planning Process
  • Must have strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan
  • Must be able to create an environment where "safety first" is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude
