Overview

Big O General Service Technicians perform service and installation activities associated with store products and services in an accurate and timely manner.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Responsibilities

1. Drain oil and change oil filter; lubricate vehicles; install, rotate and balance tires and properly torque wheels; check and fill various fluids; check and replace filters and lights.
2. Unload tires, merchandise, and supplies from transport trucks and warehouse deliveries.
3. Inspect disposed tires for adjustment and properly store or dispose of tires.
4. Clean facilities, tools, and equipment; stock shelves.
5. Greet and thank each customer courteously; provide fast and friendly customer service.
6. Promote sales by explaining benefits of services and products; perform sales duties including proper pricing, promotions, suggestive selling, and stocking merchandise.
7. Maintain store appearance to meet Big O Tires standards.
8. Safely operate customer vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions, moving vehicles as needed.
9. Complete required training like Today’s Class Technician promptly.
10. Follow work schedules and clocking procedures accurately.
11. Report maintenance issues to supervisors.
12. Assist in training new employees as needed.
13. Adhere to company policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

1. Be at least 17 years old (with parental consent) or older.
2. Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials.
3. Operate computers and office machinery.
4. Safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
5. Communicate accurately with customers.
6. Work with hazardous materials safely.
7. Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
8. Follow PPE regulations.
9. Have good vision, hearing, speech, and olfactory senses.
10. Be able to move and lift up to 75 pounds.
11. Be available to work holidays, weekends, and after-hours as needed.
12. Communicate effectively in English.
13. Meet pre-employment screening requirements.
14. Have legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Note: Ability to obtain a current Motor Vehicle Inspection within 6 months (for Missouri stores).

Preferred Skills

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Valid driver’s license.
3. Ability to work independently and in a team.
4. Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace.
