Neal Tire & Auto Service, a family-owned operation with over 100 years of experience, runs 25 retail locations across Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky as part of Ben Tire Distributors. We emphasize trusted service, safety, and community engagement.

We seek a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services, communicate inspection results to customers, and support a clean, safe shop environment. Monday–Friday with occasional weekend availability; competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.
• Basic understanding of car maintenance and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostics and inspections on customer vehicles.
• Perform basic automotive services including mounting and balancing tires, oil changes, filters and replacements.
• Perform tire maintenance and tire changes on customer vehicles.
• Provide clear communication to customers about inspection results and needed repairs.
• Maintain an organized and safe work environment.

Job Type:Full-time

Weekly Day Range:Monday to Friday w/ Weekend Availability as Needed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostics and inspections on customer vehicles.
• Complete basic automotive services like mounting and balancing tires, tire repairs, oil changes, filters, replacements, and more.
• Perform tire maintenance and tire changes on customer vehicles.
• Provide superior customer service, which includes providing clear communication and feedback about customer vehicles.
• Maintain an organized and safe work environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's License w/ Safe Driving Record
• Successful Completion of Background Check and Pre-Employment Drug Screening

Skill Requirements:

• Basic understanding of car maintenance
• Ability to effectively communicate with the customer the results of inspections and needed repairs
• Ability to operate specialized tools and equipment for car maintenance and repair
• Careful attention to detail

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day
• Frequent bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and stretching
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
