Job summary

Tate Boys Tire & Auto Service in Owasso, OK is seeking a General Service Technician to perform oil changes, tire and wheel services, and other light maintenance. You will also drive customers, pick up parts, and keep the shop clean and safe while following all safety procedures.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work Monday through Saturday. State Inspector license or ability to obtain within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
• Possess current or expired State Inspector License or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Understanding of under the hood mechanics and basic vehicle systems.
• Able to work Monday-Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Tire mounting, dismounting, balancing and rotation.
• Oil changes and other light vehicle maintenance.
• Multi-point inspections and documenting vehicle conditions.
• Keep the shop clean, organized and safe.
• Drive vehicles safely and obey traffic laws.
• Adhere to safety procedures and report concerns.
• Support team members with other tasks as needed.
• Follow Sun Auto’s policies and employee handbook.

TheGeneral Service Technicianis responsible for conducting non-technical automotive service repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services as well as driving customers, picking up parts, and maintaining the cleanliness of the shop as needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Tire mounting, dismounting, balancing & rotation
• Oil changes and other light vehicle maintenance
• Multi-point inspections & documenting vehicle conditions
• Keeping the shop clean, organized, and safe
• Requires driving vehicles in a safe and courteous manner obeying all traffic laws
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to direct supervisor
• Supporting team members with other assigned tasks

• Possesses a general understanding of under the hood, mechanical and under carriage assemblies
• Ability to work Monday - Saturday

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

The General Service Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside.

The General Service Technician must be able to meet the following physical requirements:

• Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and able to walk to gain access to various areas of the building
• Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle or finger objects frequently
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Hear and speak
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
