Job summary

American Tire Depot in Barstow, CA is seeking a General Service Technician to join a fast-paced, customer-focused shop. You will mount, dismount, balance and rotate tires, perform oil changes, replace filters, and support brake and suspension work to deliver elite service.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of automotive experience, a valid driver’s license, can lift 70 lbs, and is motivated to grow into roles such as Mechanic, Service Advisor, or Management.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional automotive service experience (tires, oil, brakes, suspension)
• Hands-on ability with preventative maintenance and light mechanical work
• Valid driver's license with clean record; ability to lift 70 lbs
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Flexible schedule with weekend availability

Responsibilities

General Service Technician:

• Mount, dismount, balance, and rotate tires
• Repair flats, perform oil changes, replace filters
• Perform courtesy inspections and document findings
• Test and install batteries Diagnose and perform brake jobs (disc/drum, lathe work)
• Handle suspension repairs (struts, shocks, control arms)
• Perform alignments and steering system repairs
• Replace under-hood components (water pumps, alternators, radiators)
• Stock inventory and maintain shop cleanliness and safety standards
• Work as a team to deliver fast, accurate, elite service
