Job summary

Enva Recycling Scotland is hiring a General Operative to join the Linwood Operations team. Working 45h a week, Monday-Friday from 6:00am to 6:00pm, you will help run the MRF plant safely under the supervision of the Operations Manager and shift supervisor.

The role involves manually sorting through waste, hygiene duties and basic maintenance, ensuring waste is separated per stream and recyclables are recovered. Training will be provided, with strict PPE and safety protocols in place.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a regulated environment and in a Recycling facility
• Ability to operate vehicles and machinery in a safe manner
• Drivers Licence, CSCS, Mobile Plant Licence is desirable

Responsibilities

• Ensure the recycling plant operations are managed in line with Health and Safety legislation and Enva standards.
• Ensure all duties (recycling, inspections and cleaning) are carried out and recorded as per company and manufactures instructions and procedures.
• Assist in the day to day operations of the plant in accordance with site licence and contractual conditions.
• Sort and separate waste types to ensure plant performance is at its highest.
• Training will be given on specialised plant.
• Maintain the highest cleanliness of all working areas.
• Ensure that the machines are maintained in a clean condition. Any defect affecting the safe working order of a machine to be reported immediately.
• Ensure that the correct Personal Protective Equipment, as provided by the Company, is worn at all times. The correct PPE must be worn at all times when handling waste materials.
• Remain aware, at all times, of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety and for the Health and Safety of your work colleagues.
• Carry out other tasks within your operational ability or for which you have received appropriate training, as and when required.
• Ensure compliance with all company work practices as directed.
• Operate mobile plant and other plant equipment safely and competently where trained, instructed and qualified to do so.
• Assist with the general operations as required and instructed.

Enva Recycling Scotland is hiring a General Operative to join the Linwood Operations team.

In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient day to day operation of the MRF (Materials Recycling Facility) plant under the direction of the Operations Manager and shift supervisor.
