Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated is hiring for an assembler in a fabrication environment. You will assemble metal components for furniture per work orders, operate presses, load dies, and maintain equipment to maximize program yields.

The role requires reading prints, basic math, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; forklift operation skills are a plus. 40-hour weeks with benefits apply.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate metal parts per quality requirements.
• Operate press and perform machine maintenance to maximize yields.

• Keep moving parts lubricated and safe operation of equipment.
• Use forklift or pallet jack to move materials as needed.
• Inspect work visually to ensure quality standards are met.
• Rework non-conforming parts as necessary and manage waste.
• Maintain clean work area and follow safety procedures.

Job Summary:

This position works independently or within a team to assemble quality fabricate metal components for furniture to work order specifications in an incentives base manufacturing environment.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

• Fabricate metal material according to La-Z-Boy quality requirements.
• Operate press, machine maintenance to maximize program yields.
• Load die and set up the machine, adjusting for each job.
• Keep all moving parts of machine lubricated.
• Operate forklift or pallet jack to relocate materials, supplies, and parts as needed.
• Inspect work visually for defects according to our quality standards
• Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment
• Ability to operate equipment in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.
• Rework non-conforming parts as necessary.
• Control quality and waste.
• Demonstrates teamwork and motivation for job requirements.
• Follow health and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean work area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the above duties
• Basic reading, writing and math skills
• Ability to read complex print specifications
• Use and understand measuring tools (micrometer, calipers, etc.)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills
• Obtain PIV license
• Achieve performance standards
• Excellent attendance; 3 points or less.
• No safety written warnings
