Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) in Texas is seeking a full-time board eligible or board certified general Pediatric physician to join our McLane Children’s program in Harris Creek. The Pediatric physician will provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting, with shared hospital on-call duties and opportunities to supervise students and residents.

Qualifications

• Doctorate Degree in Medicine.
• Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board.
• Board certification in their specialty or active pursuit as defined by the American Board of Medical Specialties or BOM.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as part of an outpatient pediatric program.
• Share hospital on-call duties for McLane Children's patients, including newborns.
• Supervise, oversee and teach medical students, interns and residents.
• Collaborate with referring physicians, agencies and other professionals to provide optimum care.
• Utilize advanced tools to minimize documentation burden and support efficient care.

Position Highlights

• Outpatient opportunity with shared hospital on-call duties for McLane Children's patients, including newborns. No delivery attendance required. Call is shared among all physicians in the group.
• After-hour clinic patient care calls only reach the physician after being screened by our excellent after-hours nurse triage phone line and on-call pediatric resident physicians which handle more than 99% of the calls.
• Opportunity to supervise, oversee and teach medical students, interns, and residents rotating through the department and division.
• Flexible scheduling options that allow for excellent work/life balance.
• Mixture of virtual and in-person patient visits.
• The ability to utilize ground-breaking technological tools that assist the physicians in minimizing documentation burden.

About McLane Children's Medical Center

Our five-story McLane Children's Specialty Clinic is located next to our free-standing Children's Hospital in Temple, Texas. The hospital features include112 patient beds: forty-eight private medical/surgical rooms, sixteen private Pediatric ICU rooms and a 24-hour, level II pediatric emergency department and verified trauma center equipped to deal with the most serious pediatric trauma cases. A level IV, forty-eight bed Neonatal ICU is located nearby on the main BSWMC, Temple campus.
