Practice Description

Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is recruiting for a Canadian Royal College certified General Pathologist, or board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist (AP/CP), for a three-person practice.

Our group performs approximately 8500 surgical pathology cases per year. Primary responsibilities will include general surgical pathology and cytology case sign out and clinical pathology case sign out (e.g. peripheral blood smears, bone marrow biopsies) as well as transfusion medicine and local laboratory oversight. Intramural or extramural consultation for challenging or unusual cases is readily available, including outside consultation at academic medical center sites in Vancouver. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to relate well with laboratory staff, clinicians, and administration.
