Job summary

The Chemours Company - Fayetteville Works site is actively hiring for Operator family roles. Responsibilities include safety-focused operation of finishing and inspection processes, sampling, LIMS data entry, and packaging of membrane and film products.

Roles require lifting up to 50 lbs and forklift operation, with overtime on a rotating 12-hour shift. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, and prior manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

  • All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment including contractor role within similar operations is preferred.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be willing and able to work a 12 hr rotating shift including overtime required to meet production needs within existing policies.
  • Must be willing and able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safety focus and ensures efficient operation for shift production tasks, Finishing and Inspection, Wet Out, Water Jet Cutting and Packaging per customer commitments.
  • Take required samples; log into LIMS and post data accordingly.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack.
  • Safely set up, inspect, cut and package dry membrane, fuel cell films and stored energy film with accuracy for quality and on-time delivery.
  • Perform primary or secondary verification for customer orders, ensuring total customer focus.

Multiple Job functions exist within the Operator Family Job Roles, each with compensation relative to the specific job description.

Job Functions for this posting include the following
  • 1 - IXM Finishing and Inspection Operator
  • 2 - IXM WX Operator
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following
  • Provides for safety focus as well as efficient and effective operation for shift production tasks, Finishing and Inspection, Wet Out, Water Jet Cutting and Packaging of orders meeting established customer commitments.
  • Take required samples; log into LIMS (Lab Information Management System), retrieve data and post in proper areas.
  • Operation of fork truck and pallet jack.
  • Safely set up, inspect, cut and package both dry membrane, fuel cell films and stored energy film using experience and accuracy required for customer required quality and on-time delivery.
  • Knowledge and accurate execution of the pack-out / shipment processes.
  • Performing primary or secondary independent verification for customer order accuracy in a manner that is totally customer focused.
Attributes for successful candidates include but are not limited to the following
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, following all Site Safety Policies including the ability to wear prescribed personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, participating in and providing for an environment for the realization of key performance goals and outcomes.
  • Availability to work hours outside of normal work schedule as determined necessary.
  • Successfully performing various tasks for processing, packaging, and shipping of materials in a manufacturing environment that requires attention to detail and total customer focus.
  • Availability to travel with team to off-site vendor production facility for processing of material. Required to stay / lodge in Greensboro N.C. for periods of time of up to 5 nights.
  • Job Descriptions require skills necessary for achieving key production and processing targets for quality, yield and on time delivery to customers.
