Job summary

Nashville General Hospital is seeking a Cardiovascular Physician to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care in a collaborative, teaching-focused environment in Nashville, TN.

The role includes participation in academic appointments, clinical research, and teaching rounds, with a strong emphasis on serving diverse and underserved populations and offering competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship.
• Board certified or board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
• Two years of cardiovascular experience preferred; exceptionally trained new graduates will be considered.
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and serving diverse and underserved populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient evaluation and management of cardiovascular conditions.
• Diagnose and manage coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, valvular disease, and other cardiovascular disorders.
• Perform and interpret electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, stress testing, and other non-invasive cardiac studies.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment and prevention plans.
• Provide cardiovascular consultation, pre-operative risk assessment, and post-operative management.
• Collaborate with primary care, hospitalists, emergency medicine, surgeons, nurses, APPs, and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and cardiovascular program development.
• Educate patients and families regarding cardiovascular health, prevention, and disease management.
• Participate in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and APPs.

Our cardiovascular program includesgeneral cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, advanced imaging cardiologists, and advanced practice providers, creating a collaborative environment for comprehensive cardiovascular care.
