Job summary

Meijer is hiring for a store leadership role in Michigan. You will oversee staffing, hiring, and team development while driving sales and maintaining tight control of shrink.

Your responsibilities include coaching staff, ensuring excellent customer service, training teams, and promoting a safe work environment. Ideal candidates bring 2–3 years of retail experience and at least 1 year of management, with strong communication and financial awareness to guide decisions and improve performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a safety-conscious organization.

• Document and apply disciplinary actions and recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure team is thoroughly trained and has completed required training.
• Spend time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
