Qualifications

• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Conducts candid discussions with team members to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results by executing corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity, owning budget line items in the P&L.
• Drives safety and compliance store-wide and ensures adherence to all procedures.
• Directs Team Leaders and Leads to provide guidance and assign daily work and training needs.

The leader will be responsible for driving recognition, feedback and coaching, performance management, training and development, and succession planning. The Department Manager will direct Leads and Team Leaders, while ultimately being accountable for area operations and financials (shrink, productivity, safety, scheduling & forecasting staffing needs, and team member and customer conflict resolution).
