Job summary

America’s Best, part of National Vision, is seeking a General Manager to lead a store team, drive results, and create an exceptional patient and associate experience. You’ll oversee daily operations, staffing, merchandising, and patient care, partnering with the Doctor to ensure the highest level of service.

You will recruit and develop talent, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with all policies and safety standards while delivering strong sales and profitability in a dynamic retail

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail experience, supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the optical industry is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and build strong associate relationships.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily store operations, including staffing, inventory, bookkeeping and planning.
• Lead, train, and develop associates through coaching and growth opportunities.
• Monitor store performance and guide associates to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Partner with the Doctor to ensure the highest level of patient care.
• Conduct store audits and uphold quality, merchandising and service standards.
• Maintain open communication with District Manager and provide accurate reporting.
• Ensure store and facility meet corporate and safety standards.
• Execute marketing, merchandising and promotional initiatives.
• Manage budgets, supplies and inventory to meet financial goals.
• Recruit, hire and retain top talent and craft schedules based on business needs.
• Lead by example toward sales and service excellence.
• Provide timely feedback and performance evaluations.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success, sales, and profitability of the store. This includes managing all aspects of operations — from financial performance and team leadership to merchandising, training, and patient care.

You’ll set the tone for a positive, high-energy environment where exceptional service and teamwork thrives.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain open communication with the District Manager and provide accurate reporting.
• Ensure the store and facility meet all corporate and safety standards.

Additional Responsibilities

• Manage budgets, supplies, and inventory to meet financial goals.
• Recruit, hire, and retain top talent, creating schedules based on business needs and store traffic.
• Lead by example — coaching your team toward sales and service excellence.
• Provide clear, timely feedback and performance evaluations, while addressing issues proactively.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain accurate associate files and records.

• 5+ years of retail experience. Supervising experience preferred.
