Job summary

Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. in Olney, IL is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily store, fuel, and foodservice operations, drive efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction, and lead a team to execute strategic initiatives.

You will manage processes, monitor financial performance, schedule staff, and partner with the General Manager to ensure safe, clean facilities and strong merchandising standards, while growing sales and improving profitability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years retail, travel stop, or c-store management.
• 2+ years managing operations with an annual sales volume of $2+ million.
• 2+ years supervising and training 5-10+ employees.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• DOT Physical may be required.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on responsibility of multi-venue operations up to and including store, fuel, restaurant, fresh kitchen, and truck care.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility through restroom and shower cleanliness, facilities, equipment maintenance, and safety checks.
• Drive sales of products and services through efficient ordering, stocking, inventory management, and merchandising standards.
• Assist the General Manager with task execution, scheduling, cash integrity, and daily/weekly/monthly reporting.
• Understand financial reporting to include analyzing profit and loss statements and making changes to capture opportunities.
• Collaborate with managers in talent acquisition.

Requirements:

• 2+ years in retail, travel stop or c-store, big box, grocery, or department store management.
• 2+ years managing operations with an annual sales volume of $2+million.
• 2+ years affecting and deciphering budgets and P&L statements.
• 2+ years supervising and training 5-10+ employees.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Additional screening may include a motor vehicle check and/or DOT Physical.

Skills and Demands:

• Ability to work various shift times to include days, afternoons, evenings, nights, occasional overnights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer satisfaction focus.
• Exceptional customer service, positive rapport building, expert salesmanship, and ensuring satisfaction by managing operations and employee-vehicle deployment.
