Job summary

MillerKnoll is seeking a Retail Store Manager for the Design Within Reach brand in Fort Worth. You will lead a store team, drive sales, ensure premium customer experiences, and uphold iconic design standards.

You will recruit, coach, and retain staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with the Regional Manager to optimize store performance and profitability. This role demands leadership, design sensitivity, and strong operational discipline.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience preferred.
• Demonstrated design skills and a passion for the design profession.
• Financial literacy, business acumen, and ability to manage budgetary responsibilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office software, web navigation, and 3-D rendering programs.
• Able to routinely move objects weighing more than 20 pounds and to understand safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships by leading and motivating a team through goal setting and consistent recognition, coaching, feedback, and training.
• Manage the full-life cycle of talent acquisition, including partnering with HR for performance management.
• Ensure store procedures are followed to maximize design leadership and profitability.
• Lead team on creating floorplans, design presentations, weekly trade events, and home visits.
• Build positive working relationships with the store team and share insights with the Regional Manager to grow the business.

Store Hours: Open daily, Sunday through Saturday (weekend and holiday availability required)

About the Role:

Our stores serve as both a retail environment and as a community center for design, inviting constant interaction between the customer, our furniture, and our team. You will learn the story behind our iconic products from esteemed designers such as Charles and Ray Eames and Jens Risom as well as leading manufacturers like Herman Miller and Knoll. Our General Managers are responsible for all leadership activities within the store. You will report to the Regional Manager.

What you will do:

• Build trusting relationships by developing, leading, and motivating a team through goal setting and providing consistent recognition, coaching, feedback, and training.
• Manage the full-life cycle of talent acquisition, including partnering with Human Resources for performance management related situations.
• Ensure the store procedures are followed to represent the best in design by utilizing visual directives, presentation, and general housekeeping standards to maximize profit and manage expense control goals.
• Lead team on creating floorplans, design presentations, weekly trade, and home visits.
• Build positive working relationships with the store team, work with the Regional Manager and share business insights, best practices, and develop strategies to grow the business.
