Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a driven General Manager Administrative Partner to work directly with the PMDD General Manager in Crystal City, VA. You will streamline workflows, oversee executive support, and collaborate with leaders across the organization to ensure on-time delivery of division objectives.

You will coordinate calendars, travel, and reporting while driving efficiency and applying industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Advanced administrative skills: project coordination, strategic execution, organization, detail-oriented, writing and proofreading.
  • Advanced technological fluency across MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and Excel.
  • Advanced communication & interpersonal skills: leadership, collaboration, strategic thinking, problem-solving, diplomacy, judgment, business acumen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to work independently and/or cooperatively with a team to proactively deliver innovative solutions with minimal direction.

  • Act as partner, representative, and point of contact for GM with internal management, government customers, contractors, and leaders.
  • Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and information for efficient decision making.
  • Oversees coordination of employee support for the division (office space, onboarding, timesheet auditing, training requirements, supplies).
  • Coordinates and facilitates special projects, tracks actions and deliverables.
  • Coordinates division, corporate, and customer reports, deliverables, and org charts.
  • Provides input and follow-up communications on GM/Division activities and decisions.

The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, technology development, warfighter capability enablers, systems integration, defense industrial base, and threat reduction to help shape existing and future space missions across the national security space (NSS) enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including the U.S. Space Force, U.S. Space Command, Air Force Material Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of technical support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers’ portfolios as well as horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation. Additionally, DSG provides deep technical expertise to the Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) in the conception, design, acquisition, launch and operations of satellite, launch vehicle, ground control, and range systems. The Pentagon and Multi-Domain Division (PMDD) provides the technical analyses needed to inform and underpin decisions made by senior leaders within the Department of War (DoW). We address a broad range of space-related issues to help shape current and future DoW missions, taking on challenging space-related problems on behalf of our DoW customers in areas such as requirements, acquisition, emerging technologies, operational analysis, architecture, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, mission engineering, and threat reduction. We are seeking a driven and confident General Manager Administrative Partner to work directly with the PMDD General Manager. In this pivotal role, you will be a key contributor to the division’s leadership team, offering strategic and forward-thinking insights to drive team and organizational success. You will be responsible for anticipating needs, making informed recommendations, and actively participating in planning and decision-making processes. Your duties will include streamlining workflows, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and providing collaborative administrative leadership to enhance overall operations. Strong problem-solving skills, process ownership, and effective communication with leaders, colleagues, and customers across the organization are essential to ensure smooth operations and the timely achievement of internal and external deadlines. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Crystal City, VA.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Act as a partner, representative, and point of contact for GM by working closely with and fostering connections with internal management, government customers, contractors, and external senior leaders
  • Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and information for the leader(s) to facilitate efficient decision making
  • Oversees coordination of employee support for the division (office space, on-boarding, timesheet administration/auditing, training requirements, supply/equipment orders)
  • Coordinates and facilitates special projects, tracks actions items and deliverables
  • Coordinates division, corporate, and customer reports/deliverables/org charts (compile/edit/publish)
  • Provides input and feedback on GM/Division-level activities and decisions, with follow-up communications and coordination
  • Executes strategic, proactive, and complex calendar/meeting/event planning management and conflict resolution
  • Arranges travel coordination, logistics, and expense reporting for senior leadership
  • Improves and ensures effective processes/systems within the division that provide superior organization, efficiency and industry-lead technical best practices
  • Collaborates with admins across the corporation to achieve coverage and increase efficiency and consistency
  • Leads by training and mentoring admins and is a role model by demonstrating professionalism, team collaboration, technical expertise, and leadership behavior that is consistent with the company's values
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Advanced administrative skills: project coordination, strategic execution of tasks, organization, detail-oriented, writing, and proofreading
  • Advanced technological fluency across a wide range of tools and platforms such as Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and Excel
  • Advanced communication & interpersonal skills: leadership, collaboration, strategic thinking, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, diplomatic, judgment, business acumen, and decision making, across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to changing environments and anticipate needs of the organization
  • Ability to handle sensitive and personnel-related information appropriately and support sensitive management functions
  • Ability to work independently and/or cooperatively with a team to proactively deliver innovative solutions and resolve issues with minimal direction
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
How You Can Stand Out
  • Prior experience as a senior admin or similar role
  • Familiarity with enterprise software packages such as Concur, Workday, JIRA, Confluence
  • Familiarity with Aerospace corporate organizational structures, policies, processes, and practices
  • Experience with classified procedures, processes, and data handling
  • A current and active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government is highly preferred
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills. (Min - Max) $37.44 - $56.16 Pay Basis: Hourly
