Description

Central Conveyor Company (a member of the Tsubaki Group) is a turn‑key Systems Integrator with a complete portfolio of conveyance solutions and products for the Automotive, Parcel & Logistics, and Warehouse & Distribution markets.

The General Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the personnel and processes within multiple departments, including Business Development/Sales, Project Management and Estimating, while focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and profitability. The General Manager exemplifies the core values of Central Conveyor being Integrity, Stewardship, and Quality with Safety being the forefront in every decision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Champion and support a positive, proactive safety culture throughout the organization to achieve best in class safety performance.
  • Provide operational oversight, including but not limited to financial planning, personnel, the organization’s asset management and utilization, ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Lead the departments while delegating responsibilities to subordinates providing guidance, direction and evaluation of the work while ensuring a healthy working environment.
  • Lead sales innovations, business development and the profitability of the organization as determined by the strategic goals.
  • Assist in maximizing the organization’s operating performance and achieve its financial goals.
  • Assist in managing the organization’s finances, identifying ways to increase revenue and decrease costs, analyzing financial reports and preparing budgets.
  • Lead the building of the organization’s customer relations to improve and achieve the vision of the organization.
  • Drive change in the organization, functioning as a catalyst for the organization to embrace and implement proven and emerging strategies to drive speed, quality, safety, reliability, and employee satisfaction.
  • Work with teams to build and complete cross‑training and development plans that are robust and improve the capability of the team members and improve flexibility in operations.
  • Empower teams with a managerial style that is collaborative, inclusive, and balanced in its approach to achieve commitments.
  • Establish environment of continuous improvement for solving problems and reducing costs.
  • Provide leadership and employee development through talent acquisition, performance management, training and development, coaching and mentoring, and motivation of personnel in alignment with the business goals and objectives.
  • Identify, share, and leverage best practices across the business as appropriate.
  • Review and approve all proposals over to the customer prior to sending.
  • Review, summarize, and analyze monthly cost‑to‑complete estimates for all projects.
  • Maintain awareness of competitors, expansion opportunities, customers, markets and new industry developments and standards.
  • Mediate employee concerns, with the assistance of Human Resources, in a timely fashion.
  • Attend and actively participate in Safety and Leadership Meetings to support the organization’s vision and mission.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure continuous profitability improvement.
  • Complete other tasks or projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 15 plus years of management experience, preferably in material handling and/or automotive.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to prepare and present publications that conform to the prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to present information to all levels of the organization, from the board of directors to employees, in a clear, concise and effective manner.
  • Ability to write clearly and informatively.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations and remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.
  • Always displays a professional appearance as a representative of the organization.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to foster and support an environment of strong teamwork.

  • Requires some travel, including overnight, to satellite facilities or project sites.
