Davidson Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead Margaritaville San Diego Gaslamp and its teams in a fast-paced, full‑service lifestyle hotel. You will direct operations across Rooms, F&B, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and HR, while driving revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years as a GM, strong F&B leadership, and a hands‑on, visible leadership style focused on exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as a General Manager in a full-service hotel or resort.
• Strong F&B leadership experience with a track record of driving revenue and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of hotel operations: Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR.
• Drive revenue, profitability, and overall financial performance through strategy and execution.
• Provide strong leadership to department heads and teams, fostering accountability and service excellence.

Located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, just blocks from Petco Park and the San Diego Convention Center, Margaritaville features 235 guest rooms as well as signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts.

LandShark Bar & Grill is our 3 meal restaurant with garage style doors opening to the corners of 6th and J St. Serving guest favorites like the signature LandShark burger, fish sandwiches, tacos, and fresh salads, LandShark puts a contemporary twist on classic American beach fare. Coastal-inspired menus, live music, and views of downtown San Diego complete the breezy beach bar vibe.

5 o'Clock Somewhere, the largest downtown rooftop pool space with a hip lounge and dining area boasting live entertainment 5-7 days a week. The venue features 168 seats - 18 at the bar, and 150 seats with tables. On the poolside, there will be 42 pool chairs, including day beds and cabanas.

What You'll Do

• Lead all aspects of hotel operations, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources
• Drive revenue, profitability, and overall financial performance through strategic business planning and execution
• Provide strong leadership to department heads and associates, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and exceptional service
• Oversee and elevate Food & Beverage operations, ensuring quality, consistency, profitability, and an outstanding guest experience
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with ownership, Davidson leadership, guests, and key stakeholders
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and business performance to identify opportunities for growth
• Ensure operational standards, brand expectations, and service levels are consistently achieved
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial management while identifying opportunities to maximize revenue and control expenses
• Inspire a high-energy, guest-focused culture that reflects the Margaritaville experience

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience as a General Manager in a full-service hotel or resort
• Strong Food & Beverage leadership experience is required, with a proven understanding of F&B operations, financial performance, and revenue generation
• Demonstrated success managing hotel operations, budgets, revenue, and expenses
• Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to translate performance data into actionable strategies
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Highly visible and hands‑on leadership style with a passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
• Ability to effectively partner with Davidson, ownership, and property leadership to achieve shared business objectives
