COREcruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a brand-new luxury lifestyle hotel in Starkville, Mississippi, scheduled to open Summer 2027. You will oversee pre-opening leadership and set the hotel's identity, culture, and service standards.

The role covers all hotel operations, F&B, and events, while building a high-performing team and strong relationships with ownership, brand partners, university stakeholders, and local businesses.

General Manager – Luxury Lifestyle Hotel

Salary: Up to $125,000 + 20% bonus potential

Opening Date: Summer 2027

Property: 120-room lifestyle hotel

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Hotel General Manager to lead a brand-new, lifestyle hotel currently under development in Starkville, Mississippi.

Scheduled to open in summer 2027, the property will serve as the anchor of a major mixed‑use development featuring residential housing, restaurants, retail, and entertainment venues. The hotel will offer a distinctive hospitality experience, combining upscale accommodations with a dynamic food and beverage offering and vibrant social spaces.

Facilities will include a full‑service restaurant, an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar, a café and creamery, and an outdoor event plaza. This is an opportunity to join the project ahead of opening and play a key role in establishing the hotel's identity, building its team, and driving its long‑term commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

• Pre-Opening Leadership: Lead all pre‑opening activities, including operational planning, recruitment, team development, training, and implementation of service standards.
• Hotel Operations: Oversee all aspects of the hotel's day‑to‑day operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and consistently high service standards.
• Food & Beverage: Provide strategic oversight of the full‑service restaurant, rooftop bar, café and creamery, and outdoor event spaces.
• Financial Performance: Manage budgets, revenue strategies, operating expenses, and profitability while identifying opportunities to maximise commercial performance.
• Sales & Marketing: Develop strategies to drive occupancy, room revenue, food and beverage sales, and event business, leveraging the hotel's proximity to the university and surrounding development.
• Team Development: Recruit, lead, and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a positive culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
• Guest Experience: Establish a distinctive hotel experience that attracts university visitors, alumni, business travellers, leisure guests, and local residents.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with ownership, brand representatives, university stakeholders, and local businesses.
• Brand Standards: Ensure compliance with brand requirements, operational procedures, health and safety regulations, and all applicable industry standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager, ideally within an upscale, luxury, or lifestyle hotel environment.
• Previous pre‑opening experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of full‑service hotel operations, including rooms, food and beverage, and events.
• Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and P&L accountability.
• Experience recruiting, developing, and leading teams through a hotel opening or major operational transition.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to build relationships within the local market.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Compensation

Base Salary: Up to $125,000 annually, with some flexibility for the right candidate.

Bonus: Potential to earn up to 20% based on the applicable incentive structure.
