Job summary

VIP Cinemas in Mattoon, IL is seeking a General Manager dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences and leading a small theater team. This full-time, salaried role oversees all theater operations, from staffing and facilities to vendor relations and financial performance, ensuring smooth daily execution.

You will open/close the theater, train and schedule staff, address guest concerns, and coordinate with corporate for marketing and sales initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have availability to work on weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Must have 2+ years of management experience in a related field
• Must have a positive team-focused attitude and be willing to learn

Responsibilities

• Managing and having responsibility of all aspects of the theater, including personnel, facility, vendor, and financial management
• Communicating timely, clearly, and effectively with company leadership to coordinate the execution of duties
• Providing keen oversight of the operation, cleanliness, and performance of the theater
• Being available, outside scheduled working hours, to field time-sensitive or urgent communications from theater
• Learning all systems related to delivering our services and developing basic problem-solving skills related to theater technology
• Overseeing money, asset, and inventory management and acting as the custodian of company property
• Hiring, training, scheduling and developing team members using company standards as a guide
• Opening and closing the theater for the start or end of a business day
• Providing an excellent guest experience by proactively and reactively addressing guest concerns
• Serving as a liaison with to the corporate office in coordinating marketing and sales activities

Job Description
