Summary

The General Manager leads store operations to drive sales, profit and brand standards while developing leadership talent and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role focuses on strategic planning, talent development, community engagement and operational excellence to achieve financial goals and uphold company values.

Responsibilities
  • Direct responsibility for sales and profit performance to meet sales and margin goals
  • Plan and execute company initiatives to optimize store impact
  • Create and maintain a consistent customer experience aligned to brand expectations
  • Develop and implement a client development and community outreach strategy
  • Set talent strategy including sourcing, recruiting and retaining high performing team members
  • Coach, educate and train staff to build skills and capabilities
  • Maintain productivity through inventory management and shrink control
  • Champion use of technology and new selling techniques to drive results
  • Ensure sales floor and store standards exceed expectations at all times
Requirements
  • College degree or equivalent a plus
  • Retail management experience in a complex, high volume or high profile specialty environment preferred
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining positive working relationships with customers and staff
  • Strong business acumen and planning and prioritization skills
  • Ability to operate register and perform physical tasks including standing and lifting up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and occasional travel
  • Effective communication skills with customers and store personnel
