Job summary

Troon’s Los Lagos Golf Course in Edinburg, Texas seeks a General Manager to lead all club operations, deliver exceptional member experiences, and drive growth. The role requires strong budgeting, leadership, and industry involvement within a hospitality-forward golf environment.

You will oversee facilities, staff development, and partner with departments to enhance programs and services, while maintaining high standards of service for members and guests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
• PGA/LPGA Class A membership preferred.
• Experience in golf club operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all club operations, ensuring exceptional member and guest experience.
• Develop, manage, and monitor budgets, forecasts, financial reports, and KPIs to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
• Lead, mentor, and develop department leaders and associates through recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and training.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, HR procedures, safety standards, and regulations.
• Oversee maintenance, appearance, and long-term planning of club facilities and assets.
• Collaborate with department leaders to drive operational excellence across golf ops, F&B, agronomy, and tournaments.
• Partner with leadership on marketing, membership, and community initiatives.
• Foster a collaborative, service-focused culture building strong relationships with members, guests, and suppliers.
• Directly supervise department leaders and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Maintain involvement in industry organizations to stay current on hospitality practices.

We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Essential Duties

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all club operations, ensuring exceptional member and guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of service.
• Develop, manage, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets, business forecasts, financial reports, and key performance metrics to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
• Lead, mentor, and develop department leaders and associates through recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance management, training, and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, Human Resources procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
• Oversee the maintenance, appearance, and long-term planning of all club facilities, grounds, and physical assets.
• Collaborate with department leaders to drive operational excellence across golf operations, food and beverage, agronomy, tournaments, and other club amenities.
• Partner with leadership on marketing, membership, and community engagement initiatives to promote club programs and drive business growth.
• Foster a collaborative, service-focused culture while building strong relationships with members, guests, associates, vendors, and the local community.
• Directly supervise department leaders.
• Maintain active involvement in industry organizations and pursue ongoing professional development to remain current on hospitality and industry best practices.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Multi-course facilities may require more experience.)

• Regularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally may climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes or smells. Regularly uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise

• Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses

• Class A member of PGA/LPGA member

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
