A globally prominent and rapidly growing manufacturing organization is seeking a General Manager to lead one of its largest and most complex U.S. manufacturing operations. This is a true business leadership role with full P&L ownership for a site approaching 1,000 employees and generating more than $1 billion in annual revenue. The General Manager will lead an accomplished senior functional team spanning Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, and Human Resources while owning the overall safety, quality, delivery, cost, cash, talent, and strategic performance of the business.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own the full site P&L and drive performance across revenue, profitability, cash flow, working capital, operating cost, productivity, capital investment, and return on assets.
- Lead and develop a senior cross-functional leadership team, establishing clear priorities, accountability, operating rhythms, and alignment around short- and long-term business objectives.
- Develop and execute the site’s strategic and annual operating plans, including budgeting, forecasting, capacity planning, capital allocation, headcount strategy, and performance against key business metrics.
- Drive manufacturing excellence across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, equipment effectiveness, inventory, and continuous improvement while building a culture of disciplined execution and accountability.
- Evaluate capacity, equipment, technology, and infrastructure requirements and lead the deployment of capital and operational resources necessary to support performance, modernization, and future growth.
- Serve as the senior site interface with executive leadership and key customers, leading business reviews, resolving critical operational or commercial issues, and ensuring the organization consistently meets customer commitments.
- Build organizational capability through talent assessment, leadership development, succession planning, employee engagement, and the creation of a high-performance culture across a large salaried and hourly workforce.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including significant responsibility for a large, complex manufacturing site, business unit, or multi-functional operation.
- Demonstrated experience owning a substantial manufacturing P&L and translating financial and business objectives into measurable operational results.
- Proven success leading experienced senior functional leaders and large organizations within complex, capital-intensive manufacturing environments.
- Strong background in manufacturing excellence, Lean/continuous improvement, capital planning, asset utilization, customer leadership, talent development, and executive-level communication.
