Job summary

True North Energy is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance department. You will perform general maintenance across fuel and convenience store locations, ensuring safe, clean and efficient operations.

Travel to sites across the area is possible, with overnight stays less than 10% of the time. Required are a high-school diploma or GED and 2+ years of maintenance experience; HVAC or trade licenses are preferred.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of general maintenance experience in retail/commercial/fuel setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fuel system components.
• HVAC certification or trade license (electrical, plumbing, etc.) preferred.
• Experience with fuel management systems preferred.
• Familiarity with work order management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and painting) at company locations.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on facility systems.
• Respond to service requests from store management and operations teams promptly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve lighting, refrigeration, water heaters and other issues.
• Maintain clean and safe work environments during and after repairs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors when needed for specialized repairs.
• Maintain accurate logs of work completed, parts used, and time spent per task.
• Ensure all maintenance complies with company standards and local/state/federal codes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

As a General Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in keeping our locations operating efficiently, ensuring our customers and team members enjoy a smooth and reliable experience.

Essential Functions

• Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and painting at company locations.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on facility systems.
• Respond to service requests from store management and operation teams in timely manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues not limited to lighting, refrigeration, water heaters.
• Maintain clean and safe work environments during and after repairs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors when needed for specialized repairs.
• Maintain accurate logs of work completed, parts used, and time spent per task.
• Ensure all maintenance compiles with company standards and local/state/federal codes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently with little supervision
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.

Education and Experience

• High-school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of general maintenance experience (preferably in a retail, commercial, or fuel station setting).
• Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, Plumbing and fuel system components.
• HVAC certification or trade license (electrical, plumbing, etc.)- Preferred
• Experience with fuel management systems. - Preferred
• Familiarity with work order management systems. - Preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and safety procedures.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs., climb ladders, operate lifts and work in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching throughout the workday.
• Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and travel between locations.

Work Environment

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Required Travel

• Travel to all company sites across the area
• Possible overnight travel, less than 10%
