Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Newark, OH location to perform basic maintenance tasks including painting, minor repairs, snow removal, grounds care, and event setup. The role may also include custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and window cleaning when the primary custodian is unavailable.

Responsibilities include completing assigned maintenance projects, safely operating equipment, reporting issues to a supervisor, and assisting with emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and instructions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe use.

POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for basic maintenance duties such as painting, minor repairs, snow removal, grounds care, facility set up, as well as bulb and ballast changes. In the absence of the primary custodian, may also be responsible for custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, dusting, and window cleaning.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned:Complete assigned maintenance projects in an efficient and competent manner.Safely operate motorized and static equipment as needed.In the absence of the primary custodian, maintain the cleanliness of the LCFYMCA facilities by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, and refilling restroom / locker room dispensers.Attend to emergencies when necessary.Record and report any maintenance issues or repairs.Report all incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.Assist with the set-up of events.Child Protection Responsibilities:Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth.Participates in required abuse risk management training.Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.YMCA COMPETENCIES (Leader):Mission Advancement: Accepts and demonstrates the Ys values.
