The Colonnade Hotel in Boston is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to support maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front-of-house areas. The role includes minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, wallpaper, and carpentry tasks, with strong communication to respond to guest calls.
Ideal candidates have at least one year in building maintenance, preferably in a hotel setting, and strong customer service skills.
A General Maintenance Engineer will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas. A General Maintenance Engineer will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring some skills and experience in these areas, as well as good communication skills to respond to guest room calls.
Prepare and paint surfaces of building structure, furniture and equipment using proper application techniques and various products. Knowledge in plaster or spackle applications, drywall installation, repair and finishing, mixing paint colors to match existing colors, and applying paint to all. Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces throughout the Hotel. Perform all duties required as Fire Alarm Response Team.
