Job summary

UPMC is hiring a Full-time, General Maintenance 2 (Night Shift) to support the hospital in Harrisburg. You will handle a variety of tasks across multiple trades and must provide your own hand tools while UPMC supplies power and specialty tools.

The schedule is Wednesday-Saturday, 9pm-7am plus holidays on scheduled workdays. Final hire will reflect education and experience within the career ladder. Excellent benefits and a friendly team await.

Qualifications

• Trade school completion or experience in one trade and willingness to learn other trades.
• Own hand tools required; UPMC provides power tools and specialty tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance work with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
• Exhibit basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry/hardware, mechanical systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
• Maintain written logs pertaining to shift responsibilities.
• Maintain water chemistry and testing procedures on equipment and building systems.
• Operate and maintain building's direct digital control (DDC) systems.
• Order materials as needed.
• Perform infection control procedures during work.
• Perform minor carpentry and painting work.
• Record work orders and submit hours daily.
• Minor repairs and maintenance of plumbing fixtures and leaks.
• Perform general cleaning duties on equipment and in mechanical areas.
• Perform maintenance, repair and inspection of beds.
• Ability to perform snow removal and work in adverse weather.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
