Lagasse Branch Bell + Kinkead LLP seeks a Senior Associate Attorney with 7+ years of litigation experience in general liability and/or professional liability defense in Los Angeles. You will take a lead position on complex, high-exposure matters and serve as a primary client contact.

You will also mentor junior attorneys while contributing to the growth of our Bay Area practice, with a clear path toward partnership for strong performers.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active member of the California Bar in good standing.
• 7+ years of general liability and/or professional liability litigation experience.
• Ability to manage cases independently with sound judgment.
• Proven success in motion practice, mediation, arbitration, or trial.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Mentoring or supervising junior attorneys preferred.
• Familiarity with Bay Area courts preferred.
• Interest in business development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute case strategy with minimal oversight.
• Serve as primary client contact and provide ongoing strategic counsel.
• Take and defend depositions, including experts.
• Handle court appearances, motions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Draft and review substantive motions, pleadings, and case materials.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates and support staff.
• Assist with budgeting, reporting, and case management.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with 7+ years of litigation experience in general liability and/or professional liability defense to join our Los Angeles office. In this role, you will take a lead position on complex, high-exposure matters, serve as a primary client contact, and help mentor junior attorneys while contributing to the continued growth of our Bay Area practice. This role offers a clear and defined path toward partnership for strong performers.

COMPENSATION

Base salary: $175,000 to $220,000 depending on experience

In addition, attorneys are eligible for:

• Origination bonus (enhanced for senior associates)
• Objective bonus for hours billed above 1,850
