Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a civil litigation attorney for a California/Nevada practice focusing on general liability matters. The role offers remote flexibility with in-office collaboration across Sacramento, Pleasant Hill, and Newport Beach, and requires active CA Bar admission with hands-on litigation experience.

You will manage significant cases, conduct discovery, depose witnesses, and argue dispositive motions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience (required).
• General liability litigation experience (required).
• Experience with written discovery, depositions, court appearances, and motion practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of general liability litigation matters from intake through resolution, including complex civil disputes.
• Draft, propound, and respond to written discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission).
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Prepare and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment, demurrers, and other dispositive filings.
• Work with attorneys and clients across California while based in Sacramento, Pleasant Hill, or Newport Beach, collaborating across offices on sophisticated matters.
• Handle court appearances including hearings, CMCs, and trials.
• Develop and execute litigation strategy in close coordination with partners and clients.
• Communicate directly with clients to provide case updates, strategic guidance, and manage expectations.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda and correspondence.
• Collaborate with firm attorneys across California and Nevada on multi-party and cross-jurisdictional matters.
