Job summary

gpac is seeking an Insurance Defense General Liability Attorney in Tampa for a practice with strong litigation exposure. The role requires 3+ years in insurance defense or civil litigation, and Florida Bar admission.

You will handle cases from evaluation through trial, write pleadings, and interact with clients and carriers. You will join an established Tampa practice offering meaningful courtroom experience, collaboration with senior attorneys, and potential for growth within a busy civil

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience.
• Experience handling general liability, premises liability, personal injury, or similar matters.
• Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Comfortable taking ownership of cases and working through all stages of litigation.

Responsibilities

• Defend insurance carriers, businesses, and insureds in general liability matters.
• Handle cases from initial evaluation through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, legal correspondence, and case evaluations.
• Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and other case professionals.
• Develop litigation strategies and manage an active caseload with increasing autonomy.

A Tampa law firm is looking to add an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with 3+ years of experience to its growing team. This is an opportunity to handle a strong mix of general liability matters while working alongside experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative, established practice.
