Job Overview

A law firm seeks a General Liability Associate Attorney in Miami, Florida. This role involves handling litigation matters, providing sound counsel, and working on challenging cases with talented colleagues nationwide. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with great flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Support a litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including strategy development and trial preparation.
• Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts.
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Manage all aspects of written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and requests for production.
• Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case assessments and updates.
• Work closely with attorneys on complex matters involving general liability and insurance-related claims.
• Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit development.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff for efficient case management.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA‑accredited law school.

• 2+ years of defense litigation experience.

• Maritime experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions.
