Job summary

Southwest Key Programs is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to maintain the integrity of financial records, perform month-end and year-end closes, and support audit activities. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and generate management reports, ensuring GAAP conformance and internal control improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in General Business or Accounting and at least four years' GL experience, with strong Excel skills, PivotTables, and VLOOKUP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in General Business or Accounting.
• Four+ years of processing and reconciling general ledger tasks.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficient with MS Windows and Excel.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and formulas.
• Ability to work independently and support audits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Analyze variances and prepare management reports.
• Support internal controls and compliance efforts.
• Assist with various other accounting functions as needed.
